Tips for Back to School Success

Going back to school may stir up a lot of different emotions; for some children and parents it can be a stressful time. Readjusting to a structured environment, sleep patterns, new learning, and social interaction with friends and teachers can be trying. Parents may also feel the stress of helping their child adjust while juggling all other responsibilities. Here are some tips for a smooth transition back to school.

  • Maintain a clear routine for homework, dinner, playtime, and family time
  • Take time at night to prepare for the next day
  • Use planners and calendars to keep track of school events
  • Assign place for backpacks, shoes, coats, and doing homework
